Hope you're ready for this. There's a total of 62 pictures, which took FOREVER to upload. So here's our fun California adventure and what we've been up to for the past two weeks!
We arrived in Pasadena on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday, Granddad and Mike went with Gramps (my dad's dad) and the girls to the LA zoo. The verdict: it's big, hilly and hot, but they had a blast!
Friday night was B's bachelor party, hosted by the best of all event planners: Mike. The boys went to The Counter, an amazing burger place. It's the kind of place where you get a sheet of paper to customize your burger. I got to go later, and mmmmmmm!
After their burgers, they all showed off their manliness by going to a shooting range. Besides Mike and one of Brandon's friends, I think this was a first for everyone. But even the "liberal left-wing whackjobs" (B's words! Not mine!) had a good time. Apparently, Brandon's quite the shot, too, and you can tell he was feeling pretty good about himself. :)
Saturday... the rehearsal. A family from my dad's church allowed B and K to use their house for the wedding and reception, and it was GORGEOUS!!!
And since the family has an abundance of grandkids, they had loads of fun stuff for the girls to do. This is probably the coolest playhouse in the history of the world.
Let's test my memory for names... from left to right-- Ben, Curtis, Garrett, Grady, Zach, Malek. Boom!
Ha! Forgive me, Kelsey. I couldn't help myself! :)
Director Joe makes himself comfortable.
... And Noelle quickly grows attached to him.
Jacob Rose, a total cutie, was the ringbearer.
And now for the big event!! Here's our three men-- my dad, bro and hubby-- walking into the ceremony.
Jacob wasn't totally psyched to walk down the aisle, but with a little help from Kailie, he was good. :)
Riley lost her shoes way before the event started. That would be Mom's fault for not having her wear them previously. I kinda like the barefoot look. :)
Instead of a unity candle, B and K watered their tree.
I couldn't decide which picture of the couple was my favorite, so I had to include all of them. How happy are these two??
I think Riley may have thrown one handful of petals as she went down the aisle, though I could be wrong. But the grass in front of her seat ended up very decorated. :)
Just one of the cool touches the couple had-- lemonade stands!
This is perhaps one of my favorite pictures ever.
Hugs for Uncle B!
... And a kiss for good measure.
Yay!
After the ceremony, Noelle happy picked up flower petals...
... and transported them...
... to the dance floor.
A little peak at her bloomers. You can't see the pink ruffles, but just look at those cute polka dots. :)
Whew. Stairs are hard! Thanks, Jamie!
-------------------------------------
Before Mike left on Monday, we got to spend some time with the Stiles family. Nancy invited us over to her folks' place for a pool party. If you remember Door County, you'll recall that Noelle is a pool fan!
And it's not really time with the grandparents if we don't get a pic of the girls with Granddad.
On our last day there (sad!), we went to the mall because they have a carousel!
AND a train!
Then we got our last Stiles time in at Cherry on Top. It was a great close to a great couple weeks.
And now we're home. I'm glad to get back to our schedules, and the girls are very happy to see their toys and beds again. But we didn't ease in. Riley started preschool this morning! More on that later!
